A lot of people don’t shop in actual stores anymore; they do all of their shopping online. Online shopping appeals to our lazier sides because we don’t have to go anywhere. There are still some advantages to getting up and shopping at a store, though.
Any clothes you see online may look great, but there’s one problem: you can’t try them on. When you order that $80 pair of jeans that look so great online and they end up not fitting, it can be a real buzz kill.
No matter how many pictures or videos you see, you will always get a better feel for any product when you hold in your hands. Many things can be misrepresented online, and actually touching the item removes all doubts from your mind.
Shipping fees suck, and even if you choose the lowest cost for shipping, you still have to deal with extremely long shipping periods. Many websites offer a free option, but does can take anywhere from five days to two weeks. Sometimes, they can even go up to six weeks if you’re ordering from another country!
If you’re really anticipating the arrival of your product, having to wait for it can really suck. Buying something from a store completely eliminates the waiting factor.
As a matter of fact, shipping times are probably the main reasons actual stores are still around. There will always be some people who don’t want to wait for their products.
Better hope you like the item you bought online, because returning online items is a major hassle. It can take an extremely long time to successfully return something, and you always end up going through a lot of drama.
A lot of online companies give you the runaround. You will call for a return and they won’t give you one. If they do agree to accept the return, they almost always make you pay the shipping, which isn’t cheap most of the time.
Also, you try to save yourself so much trouble by not having to go to the store, but if you have to return something, you end up having to take a trip to the post office regardless.
